Suzanne Kessler

Adjunct Professor of Law



Suzanne Kessler practices of counsel with Bone McAllester Norton in Nashville, where she provides entertainment and intellectual property law counseling as a business and legal affairs consultant to individuals and entities in the entertainment industries. During her tenure at Universal Music Group, Professor Kessler was director of business and legal affairs for A&M Records in Hollywood and served as vice president of business development for UMG's Nashville operations. During law school, Professor Kessler won first prize in the Nathan Burkan Memorial Competition for excellence in copyright law research and writing sponsored by ASCAP as well as the Hilmer Oehlmann Jr. Award for excellence in legal research and writing. Her recent film credits include executive producing the national PBS documentary, "Patsy Cline: American Masters," co-producing the A&E Network documentary "Hairdos & Heartaches: The Women of Country Music," producing and directing "Boxing with the Bard: the Making of Marcus Hummon's 'Surrender Road'" for the Nashville Opera Association, and serving as executive producer of an unscripted music-centric television series airing on Herring Broadcasting's WealthTV. Recent music production credits include album projects for Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Rounder Records/Concord Music Group and Thirty Tigers.
