We honor and celebrate Juneteenth as a seminal moment in our country’s history.
This day marks a milestone of moral progress that began the journey toward legal and institutional equality for Black Americans. With Juneteenth providing us with this opportunity to reflect on the end of slavery, we must use its significance to renew our commitment to racial justice, anti-discrimination, and the fullest attainment of civil rights.
As recent events, such as the tragic killings in Buffalo, have made all too clear, the struggle for equality and racial justice in the United States is ongoing. Our core mission remains to contribute to meaningful action, and we remain steadfastly committed to the closest realization of the ideals of the American project.
