As we come to the end of Pride month at Vanderbilt Law School, we are excited to celebrate our LGBTQIA+ students, staff and faculty. At VLS, we seek to ensure that all our LGBTQIA+ students, staff and faculty feel fully at home, deeply cherished and able to achieve their ambitions within the first-class learning environment that Vanderbilt provides. For us as lawyers, this month calls on us to remember the essential role of the law in helping ensure that all people can be their fullest and brightest selves. We strive to be an institution that educates students about the struggles that LGBTQIA+ people have faced throughout our history and prepares future lawyers to understand, protect and celebrate these hard-won rights and freedoms.
