Don’t Take Yes for an Answer: Using Authority, Warmth and Energy to Get Exceptional Results, a new book by Steve Herz ’91, was released by Harper Collins June 16.
Herz describes the book as “a self-empowerment guide to achieving your fullest professional and personal potential.” The book quickly rose to a #1 ranking in two communications categories on Amazon and has been nominated for the Next Big Idea Book Club, which is curated by Malcolm Gladwell, Adam Grant, Susan Cain and Dan Pink.
“When all else is equal—education, work ethic, intelligence, experience, ambition—the single biggest factor in winning business, promotions, friends or followers hinges on your ability to communicate and connect,” Herz said.
Herz is president of The Montag Group, a sports and entertainment talent and marketing consulting firm based in New York. He also serves as a career advisor to CEOs, lawyers, entrepreneurs and young professionals. Before joining the Montag Group, he was president and founding partner of IF Management, whose broadcasting division represented over 200 television and radio personalities.
In addition to his career management and leadership coaching practice, he blogs on leadership and posts on Twitter at @ifmanagement.
Herz earned his B.A. in political science at the University of Michigan before earning his J.D. at Vanderbilt Law School.
