Today we gratefully honor our VLS student and alumni veterans and veterans throughout the nation. VLS is privileged to count veterans of exceptional character, intellect and dedication among our past and present students. These veterans have demonstrated a singular commitment to service, sacrifice, honor, a passion for the law and the founding ideals of the country.
We are thankful to our VLS veterans and to their families, friends and communities. At VLS, we recognize the role our law school plays in educating those that serve to perform essential service in safeguarding the rule of law and protecting justice around the world as part of their duties and deployment. Our community also endeavors to recognize the challenges of service to ensure our vets feel supported, valued and celebrated. Our Law Students for Veterans Affairs represents a critical part of this community, mentored under the guidance of Professor Mike Newton, that offers our vets representation, voice and belonging.
We are proud to celebrate this Veterans’ Day and mark this occasion with a commitment to serve those who do so much to serve others and our nation.
