Joycelyn Stevenson, Class of 2001, has been chosen president-elect of the Nashville Bar Association. She takes office January 1, 2015, and will assume the presidency in January 2016.
“I am honored to continue to serve the NBA in a leadership capacity,” said Stevenson. “I look forward to supporting the NBA’s mission of assisting our members in expanding their legal knowledge, advancing their career goals and giving back to the local legal community.”
The NBA board elects the president-elect; candidates must have served for at least three years on the board.
Stevenson is a shareholder at Littler in Nashville, where her practice focuses on labor and employment and business immigration law. She is a member of Leadership Nashville, the American Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the Napier-Looby Bar Association and the Society for Human Resources Management. She is also a former president of Nashville chapter of the Lawyers’ Association for Women and of the Council on Aging of Greater Nashville. She serves on the board of the Nashville Farmers’ Market.
Recently, Stevenson was listed among the 2014 “Best of the Bar” by the Nashville Business Journal and was a 2014 finalist for the Young Professionals Nashville and Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Emerging Leader Award in legal services.
