Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas visited Vanderbilt Law School in March, spending the day meeting with students, faculty and alumni before delivering the 2014 Sims Lecture. He had breakfast with students who are military veterans or are serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, met with students on the staff of the Vanderbilt Law Review, spoke to a first-year Constitutional Law class and then greeted alumni and faculty at a reception before his lecture. After Justice Thomas’ presentation, Professor Brian Fitzpatrick posed questions to him.The Sims Lecture Series honors Cecil Sims, a 1914 first-honors graduate of Vanderbilt Law School and a founding member of the Nashville law firm Bass Berry & Sims, and is made possible through the generosity of the Sims family.
