Lucian T. Pera, Class of 1985, a partner in the Memphis law office of Adams and Reese, took office as treasurer of the American Bar Association at the conclusion of the ABA Annual Meeting in Toronto in August. Pera will serve a three-year term through the association’s Annual Meeting in August 2014.
Pera was a member of the ABA’s Board of Governors from 1994-97 and chaired the board’s Finance Committee in 1996-97. He has been a member of the ABA’s House of Delegates since 1991, where he represented the Tennessee Bar Association and served on the House Committee on Technology and Communications.
He is a past chair of the Standing Committee on Technology and Information Systems and served on the Ethics 2000 Commission. Pera has also served as president of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers (APRL) and was APRL’s liaison to the Coordinating Council for the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility. He was also a member of the Editorial Board for the ABA/BNA Lawyers Manual on Professional Conduct.
