Michael Newton Appointed as a Member of the ABA’s Center for Human Rights Advisory Council

Professor Michael Newton has been appointed as a member of the Center for Human Rights Advisory Council for a one-year term commencing with the adjournment of the 2024 Annual Meeting.

The Center for Human Rights (CHR) defends advocates, protects communities, and holds governments accountable under law. Through initiatives focusing in areas like atrocity crimes, dignity rights, human trafficking, and labor rights, CHR operates on a global scale.

Michael Newton is an expert on terrorism, accountability, transnational justice and conduct of hostilities issues. He is the Director of the International Legal Studies Program, International Law Practice Lab, and the Vanderbilt in Venice program.
