Friedman and McVeagh place fourth in International Commercial Mediation Competition

Scott Friedman and Alex McVeagh (BS’08), both members of the Class of 2013, placed fourth among 65 teams in the eighth annual International Commercial Mediation Competition held by the International Chamber of Commerce February 8-13 in Paris, France. In addition to reaching the competition’s semifinal round, Friedman and McVeagh were named “Best Public Speakers.” The duo is the first Vanderbilt Law School team to enter the competition, which required students to assume the roles of client and attorney engaged in a commercial mediation. The team was coached by adjunct law professor Larry Bridgesmith, an experienced commercial mediator. McVeagh plans to join Chambliss Bahner & Stophel in Chattanooga.
