Vanderbilt Law School congratulates Judge Jackson on her pathbreaking appointment to the Supreme Court of the United States.
As our country celebrates her career and professional accomplishments, honors and service, this historic moment represents a ceiling shattered for Black women in the legal profession. It is also a long-overdue recognition of the immense talent, hard work and achievement that has been too often overlooked in the past. We are hopeful that this appointment will serve as a source of inspiration to all legal professionals to work together to ensure that the legal profession provides a more equal, welcoming, inclusive and uplifting environment for all those who now follow.
