Hi! My name is Caitlin Sharma, and I’m a 3L at Vanderbilt Law School originally from the Chicago area. Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring new coffee shops, working out, knitting/crocheting, and reading. I’m thrilled about the opportunity to serve as a Fellow because I believe deeply in collaboration and mentorship—both in law school and in the legal profession more broadly.
During my time at Vanderbilt, I’ve come to appreciate that legal education is as much about building relationships and growing with others as it is about individual achievement. The law is not practiced in isolation, and legal education is no different. Whether through study groups, student organizations, or quick conversations with peers after class, I’ve found working alongside others not only sharpens my understanding of the material, but also fosters a stronger, more supportive community.
As a Fellow, I’m excited to help cultivate an environment where students feel empowered. I’m particularly interested in helping 1Ls navigate the transition to law school—something I remember to be exciting but also incredibly overwhelming. I want to be a resource not just for outlining or exam prep, but also for the everyday questions and uncertainties that come with this new stage in life. It’s important to me that students know the academic fellows are in their corner.
I’m grateful to be part of the Vanderbilt community and look forward to contributing to it through the Fellows program!
