LL.M. Student Profile

Kamila Bury

LL.M. 2011

Germany

Kamila Bury studied law at the University of Gdansk and at Heinrich Heine University in Dusseldorf, Germany, and worked at a corporate law office in Germany before earning her LL.M. at Vanderbilt.

Kamila chose Vanderbilt because of its small size – “Our LL.M. class had 25 people, and at other schools had more than 100 LL.M. students” – and its strong corporate law department.

“I worked as a research assistant for Professor Randall Thomas studying class action and derivative suits and for Professor Margaret Blair doing research about single-entity problems in antitrust,” she says. “You learn a lot when you work one on one with a professor.”

Kamila received offers from law firms in both Germany and Poland after the New York job fair in spring 2007 and ultimately accepted a position with a Polish law firm.
