Luis A. Avilés González (he/him), a member of Vanderbilt’s JD/MSF Class of 2024, is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and earned his undergraduate degree in Public Policy from Brown University. He has worked or volunteered for the Senate of Puerto Rico, the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the Tennessee Justice For Our Neighbors immigration organization. His commitment to social justice is underscored by his particular interest in immigration, political and economic rights of U.S. territories, energy sustainability, and health and education equity.
