After earning her law degree at Heidelberg University in Germany and an Master of Law degree in Bulgaria, Milena Georgieva practiced for a year with Arsov Natchev Ganeva before earning her LL.M. at Vanderbilt.
At Vanderbilt, Milena focused on corporate, tax and international law and served as a research assistant for Professor Randall Thomas.
She was able to prepare for the New York Bar Exam, which she passed, at Vanderbilt last summer. "Professor Thomas's Securities class was extremely helpful to my professional career," she says. "The Legal Writing class taught by Professor Smith helped me improve my writing skills and feel comfortable when writing on a legal topic. The experience we gained in Professor Schoenblum's Estate Tax and Planning class is valuable for every student who wants to work in the tax law field. All classes I chose were very challenging and rewarding.
"One of the most valuable things about the LL.M. program at Vanderbilt is that all students get individual attention," she continues. "I was also very happy to serve as a research assistant for Professor Thomas. It was a pleasure and an honor to be a part of Vanderbilt Law School community, and it was amazing that I found some of my best friends at Vanderbilt."
