Leadership and the Alliance: Unlocking Japan–U.S. Potential

Join us for Leadership and the Alliance: Unlocking Japan–U.S. Potential, a timely conversation with Professor Tosh Minohara (RIIPA and Kobe University) exploring new pathways to deepen cooperation between Japan and the United States, with a focus on security and defense. Drawing on insights from Japan’s recent election results, Professor Minohara will argue that this is a once-in-a-generation moment for leadership to catalyze a paradigm shift in the bilateral relationship. Professor Michael A. Newton will join for a fireside chat and discussion
following the lecture.

Charney Distinguished Lecture

The Jonathan I. Charney Distinguished Lecture in International Law honors Professor Charney, one of the world's preeminent experts on international law, who held the Lee S. & Charles A. Speir Chair at Vanderbilt Law School until his death in 2002. The series funds academic lectures and other presentations on international law by distinguished figures in the field.
